creative workshops
Victoria currently runs creative workshops which aim to enable participants to actively enjoy exploring and experimenting with a variety of creative media.
The workshops have been developed from the core belief that everyone is born creative and this needs to be nurtured and protected, allowing for freedom of self expression. Victoria is also inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching young children.
Victoria draws upon her experiences as an artist and early years trainer to provide a day full of creative possibilities, new ideas, skills and approaches to developing the imagination, which can easily be presented to young children.
Victoria aims to raise confidence in participants own ability to create and raise awareness of how they can provide for, nurture and support children’s creativity within their own Early Years settings.
Workshops Developed so far.....
Painting Pools
Responding to the beauty of the natural world; stones, water, flowers leaves. Participants are given the opportunity to explore and experiment with a variety of paints and collage materials.
Sculpture
Creating sculptures using a wide range of natural and synthetic materials exploring three different themes –‘chair’ ,’shoes’ and ‘flying high’ looking at different methods and techniques used by artists, present and past.
Creative Environments
Based on the work carried out during the Arts Project worked on in Sure Start Centres within Derbyshire focussing on how creativity can develop young children’s Personal Social and Emotional Development.
Printmaking
Exploring basic printing methods; relief printing , mono printing and stencilling. Allowing the freedom to explore line, pattern, colour and texture using variety of techniques with materials readily available.
